Come and experience a FREE and fun community sports event for all the family!

About

Are you an Olympic Athlete in the making? Fancy trying the ancient Olympic sport of Pie Throwing? Or perhaps a Throw Down with Breakdancing BGirl Sun Sun and her crew? Or maybe you'd like to take part in the Woolympics Closing Ceremony, learning the moves from one of the stars of the London 2012 Opening Ceremony?

Taking inspiration from the early days of the Olympics as well as some of its more recently introduced sports, this community event has something for everyone. With sports to try, games to play, moves to learn, workshops to join and pies to throw, we’re looking to get people active, be silly and have some fun.

The mini Opening Ceremony at 11:30am will launch the day in style with TARU ARTS, followed by a jam-packed day of workshops, Outdoor Arts, Community Tug of War, Drumming, Rowing Races, Roots for Life's Smoothy Bike, Face Painting, DJs, garden games and all-day dancing. Cycle Confident’s 'Dr Bike' will also be on hand to fix your bikes for free, courtesy of the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

And don’t miss the Breakdancing workshop with BGirl SunSun and the Closing Ceremony, led by Temujin Gill of Grounded Movement (choreographer 2012 Opening Ceremony’s NHS section) where the star of the show - is you!

No booking required, just remember to wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

All you need to do is come along and give it a go!

Featured artists: Bureau of Silly Ideas, Disco Shed, Fairly Famous Family, Sunanda Biswas (aka BGirl Sun Sun), Swank Adjudicators, TARU Arts, Temujin Gill of Grounded Movement & The Good Time Gals.
