The Royal Borough of Greenwich is an outstanding area of south east London, best known for its world-class attractions, royal connections, rich history, groundbreaking architecture, vast parks, riverside location and much, much more.
Maritime Greenwich is one of four UNESCO World Heritage Sites in London. It encompasses the historic Greenwich town centre, Royal Museums Greenwich, the Old Royal Naval College and the whole of Greenwich Park.
To the east is the shiny new district of Greenwich Peninsula. An exciting hub of entertainment and creativity, it is famously known as being home to The O2 and the London Cable Car.
Further down the river is the area of Woolwich. Historically home to military barracks and munitions productions over the centuries, has gone through a dramatic transformation. A new cultural hub, Woolwich Works is now open in the Royal Arsenal and it includes a large-scale concert venue, rehearsal rooms, studio spaces, restaurants and internationally renowned artistic companies.
Eltham, in the south of the Borough, is filled with beautiful parks and gardens and is where children’s author E. Nesbit lived. Known most for the magnificent Eltham Palace and Gardens, this truly is an area worth exploring.
