About
Greenwich’s Fan Museum is the only museum in the UK devoted to the history of fans and the art of fan making.
Nestled in the heart of historic Maritime Greenwich, it’s home to a diverse collection of fans from around the world, dating from the 12th century to the present day. Occupying two handsome, Heritage-listed Georgian townhouses, the Museum was first opened in 1991, since which time it has staged more than 80 exhibitions on its specialist subject.
An unrivalled space in which to enjoy intimate receptions, celebrate an event or organise corporate meetings.
The combination of its convenient location, lovingly restored early Georgian listed townhouses with their gracious architecture, and the remarkable Orangery, provides the perfect setting for smaller functions and special occasions.
The Orangery, decorated with a mural by Jane Barraclough, boasts a wonderful bright and airy atmosphere. It overlooks what is surely one of the most unexpected and unusual gardens in south London with its paved parterre and fan shaped flower beds, stream and architectural features and plantings in the Japanese manner.
