Uber Boat by Thames Clippers are looking for Marine Fleet Operations Manager to focus on service punctuality, team performance and customer satisfaction.
As a Marine Fleet Operations Manager you’ll drive customer experience and operational efficiency forward through close management of key measurable areas, such as punctuality reports, mystery shops, customer feedback and feedback from the wider business.

Hours of Work: 40 hours a week, Monday to Sunday
Location: You will be based at the office at Clipper House, Trinity Buoy Wharf, London E14 0JY, a short walk from Canning Town tube or a hop across the river on our staff boat, from North Greenwich tube.
Responsibilites and Qualifications:
- You’ll lead and manage a team of Senior Masters, Masters, Mates and DCSA’s, ensuring the team uphold our company values, deliver service expectations, meet standards and receive appropriate training and guidance to perform their role.
- Nurturing the internal talent is essential, along with building a talent pipeline to ensure staffing levels are maintained to support the delivery of key initiatives.
- Responsible for the Fleet Operations MI reporting, you’ll focus on the teams KPI delivery, appraisals and improving overall standards throughout the department.
- Safety is key, and you’ll ensure all crew comply with the company’s Safety Management System, legislative requirements and you’ll be responsible for developing Fleet procedures and improving ways of working.
- You’ll deliver type-rating training and conduct examinations for Masters, Mates and DCSA’s.
- A role model to all, you’ll promote and uphold Uber Boat by Thames Clippers company values, ensuring employees feel supported and empowered within their role and confident to engage professionally at all levels.
- You’ll foster and maintain strong positive working relationships with key stakeholders, in particular recreational river users, local rowing clubs, London River Services and the Port of London Authority.
- Seeking an experienced marine professional, who holds a Boat Masters Licence (BML) or equivalent Certificate of Compliance (COC).
- You’ll have experience working under MCA regulations along with knowledge of the High-Speed Craft Code and will be capable of delivering maritime training.
- An experienced leader with a track record in improving standards, you’ll have the ability to think strategically and operate at a managerial level.
- Experience influencing change at all levels is essential along with the ability to analyse data and interpret data to produce management information reports.
