About
The London Tourism Cooperative Children’s Art Exhibition is now extended until the end of July at The O2 - part of their year-long Festival of Hope the competition called on young talented artists to create artwork inspired by the sense of the community that the pandemic has invoked in us all.
Festival of Hope is a pioneering festival with a varied programme of events where the past and present collide. There’s a true celebration of life with a nationwide art and photography contest, competitions for all the family including an amateur ‘bake-off’, community activations, giant inflatables taking over London’s West End and a series of outdoor live music concerts that will reimagine the performance space and disrupt the norm!
Over 200 artworks produced by children of all ages across the UK will be on display at The O2, Greenwich. The competition attracted over 500 entries from young people who were given four months from November 2020 to create a special piece of art inspired by all things British from the clap for carers, to their mate who kept the memes flowing during lockdown, to their teacher for being cool, to their Mum for just being their Mum, to our diverse ‘national spirit’. Winners from three age categories experienced a once-in-a-lifetime VIP trip to London for them and their families.
Winners across the categories:
- 0-6: Chenyun Jian Churchley
- 7-11 Kevin Guo
- 12-19 Adam Gaskin
- Highly Commended (Judged by Harriet Scott from Magic Radio Breakfast) Esme Aberley (Aged 10)
