Kicking off the first in the new season of Concerts at Charlton House (now on Tuesday afternoons) Charlton House welcomes back Yu Zhou Zhang.
Yu Zhou’s musical journey commenced at a young age, beginning with the violin at six and piano at eight, developing his talents at Junior Guildhall and from sixteen at Chetham’s School of Music.
Further studies took him to Trinity Laban, the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music. Today, Yu Zhou holds a full scholarship for the AdvPgDip program at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
His accomplishments include winning awards such as the prizes at the Jaques Samuel Piano Festival, Suffolk Festival of Performing Arts, and second place in the Yamaha Piano Competition at Chetham’s. He has graced stages globally, including Wigmore Hall, Meany Hall, St. James Piccadilly, St. Brides, and a BBC Radio Suffolk-broadcast Snape Maltings concert.
