Enjoy a day packed with exciting activities including lantern-making workshops, henna artistry, live performances, delicious South Asian food, and don’t miss the magical Riverside Lantern Parade as we light up the evening together.

This event is for everyone - bring your family, friends, and neighbours to celebrate culture, creativity, and community.

Diwali Lantern-Making Workshop for the Lantern Parade - Book Now
Time: 1:00pm and 3:00pm [Duration: 1 hr 30mins]
Location: Firepit Art Gallery
Join artist Pragya Kumar for a fun, family-friendly workshop to craft your own eco-friendly lantern. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, this is your chance to create something special. 
* All materials provided, and no prior experience necessary. 2 people can work together on one lantern.

Colour the Cosmos
Time: 1:00pm - 9:00pm  
Location: Canteen Food Hall & Bar
Get creative by colouring your own geometric mandala featuring iconic shapes and patterns, designed by London based artist MURUGIAH. This family-friendly activity is available all day, perfect for all ages.

DJs Rohan Rakhit & Friends
Time: 1:00pm - 9:00pm  
Location: Canteen Food Hall & Bar
Groove along to a fantastic lineup of DJs, carefully curated by Rohan Rakhit, a core member of the DAYTIMERS team and DJ/broadcaster for Gilles Peterson's Worldwide FM. The lineup features talent from across the South Asian diaspora. Representing the rich culture of the South Asian community, transcending borders, whilst placing music and joy at the forefront. Expect South Asian musical sounds with a modern twist. Join in throughout the day and make sure to bring your dancing shoes.

Heavenly Henna Workshop - Book Now
Time: 2:00pm - 5:30pm [Duration: 15 min sessions]
Location: NOW Gallery
Step into the world of henna with House of Henna and create a bespoke tattoo using natural, plant-based henna or jagua ink.
Whether you’re a first timer or a henna enthusiast, this is your opportunity to express your creativity through intricate, custom designs. 

Akademi Dance Performance

Immerse yourself in the grace and beauty of South Asian dance with Akademi's captivating performances.

Tea Light Ceremony

Tea Light is a captivating light installation that invites you to light a candle, sip a freshly brewed cup of chai, and be transported across continents and centuries. 

Dhol Drumming
Time: 5:30pm - 5:45pm  
Location: Greenwich Peninsula Square
Feel the electrifying energy of Dhol Drumming as powerful beats fill the air and set an exhilarating tone for the evening.

Riverside Lantern Parade 
Time: 6:00pm [Duration: 1 hr]
The Lantern Parade is the highlight of the day!
Bring your lantern and join in to light up the Peninsula’s riverside.
