Greenwich Light Time - Diwali

About

Head down ro the river Thames as the sun goes down for a unique Diwali light display.

Lanterns, light projections and illuminations will transform historic Greenwich, and bring to an end a spectacular day of Diwali celebrations at the National Maritime Museum.

Follow the lantern parade as it winds its way from the grounds of the National Maritime Museum to the riverside lawns of the Old Royal Naval College.

Then take up a prime position to see the Diwali light show, featuring special illuminations beamed across the Old Royal Naval College to the iconic Queen’s House.

Central to the display is a community-sourced projection made up of kaleidoscopic ‘rangolis’, a colourful art form originating in the Indian subcontinent and an essential Diwali decoration. Local schools, families and groups have come together to produce their own rangoli as part of the special Greenwich illuminations.

The show also includes Reflektions by musician and producer BISHI, a captivating art installation projected on to the Queen's House façade itself. This will be the first time Reflektions has been displayed in London.

The light show forms the climax of a full day of free Diwali celebrations in Greenwich, featuring live music, dancing, food, family workshops and more.
