Join Thames Festival Trust & Trafalgar Tavern for food and drink as historians Vera Rule and Horatio Blood tell tales of foodie passions

About

Whitebait have always been eaten along the Thames, but in the Victorian era they starred in raucous dinners held by political and media elites in waterside venues such as the Brunswick Hotel in Blackwall and the Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich. Whitebait and champagne began the meal, which went on to many other fishy dishes, and possibly turtle soup!

Arrive at 6:30pm for drinks before the talk begins at 7:30pm. You will be treated to three courses in the Victorian manner, starting with whitebait.
