An eclectic evening of spatial sound and audiovisual music by sound artist and composer Mariam Gviniashvili. Her compositions and live audio-visual productions are recognised for their capacity to delve deep into the physical and emotional essence of sound and space. The concert will feature a recent audiovisual work “ALEX” which explores the complex interplay between digital personalities and the authentic self.

Mariam Gviniashvili is a composer and visual artist who fuses electronics, 3D sound, and visuals to explore the relationship between sound, space, and visual expression. Music has been a constant in her life since childhood in Georgia, where she grew up singing and playing the piano. Her path as a composer and visual artist was shaped by her studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, where she now lives and works. Gviniashvili has received commissions from major institutions such as INA GRM, the Hong Kong Visualization Research Center, Notam, and ZKM. Her work has been showcased worldwide at festivals and venues including the New York Electroacoustic Music Festival, BEAST Feast, Ultima Festival, ARD Hörspieltage at ZKM, Cube Fest, and Prix Ars Electronica, where she received an honorary mention in both 2021 and 2023.
