Mapping Journeys (28th May)
In the 21st century, passports are used to map our journeys across borders. But what are the journeys that are important to you? Create your own passport and stamps to highlight visits that you want to record.

From the Desert to the Sea (29th May)
With no landmarks to rely on, finding your way in the desert can be a lot like trying to find your way at sea. Ancient Arabs turned to the stars – and a special tool called a kamal – to help them find their way in challenging environments.
Discover the kamal, and how it can help you to navigate using the stars, and then make your own to take home.

Treasure Maps (30th May)
Inspired by the legends of pirates and their ‘buried treasure’, create your own map to something special!

Mapping Oceans (31st May)
Inspired by the Marshall Island stick chart in the Pacific Encounters Gallery, discover this method for mapping the oceans and create your own map to take away with you.

Creating Landscapes (1st June)
Discover how 2D maps show 3D landscapes and create your own.

Mapping Monsters (2nd June)
Inspired by maps made by Jodocus Hondius, a refugee who settled in Britain in the 16th century, learn printing techniques and create your own map of coastlines, sea monsters and more!

Make-Believe Monsters (4th June)
Inspired by the sea monsters on historic maps in the Museum’s collection, design your own sea monster to bring to life!
