An opportunity to work with a well known local artist to paint your own original Mother’s Day card

About

The Big Dream is a celebration of human imagination, collated from over 50,000 dreams. A video projection depicting global dreams of what the world will look like in 2030 will be unveiled in Lower Grand Square on 22 February (22.2.22).

Inspired by this project, Edythe Peters is running two card-making workshops where you can design and make two Mother’s Day cards. After looking at examples of designs and images, you will then create from scratch you own cards and be taught how to use watercolour technique and be given advice on which colours to choose. Your completed image on watercolour paper will be adhered to a blank card, providing you with a finished product.

Mother’s Day and dreams are inextricably linked: dreams of times past, dreams of times present and dreams of times to come.  Within these dreams are images which act as reminders of our Mums: flowers, stars and hearts are just some of them.  And many of them are associated with vivid colours. This workshop looks at ways to use symbols and colour to illustrate these dreams.
