NOW Gallery presents an evening of life drawing in dialogue with Simone Brewster's exhibition 'The Shape of Things'

About

An opportunity to explore colour and form in a series of drawing workshops hosted by artists Laxmi Hussain and Frances Costelloe. During the sessions, visitors will be invited to draw from life, responding to both life models and still life compositions.

Brewster's visual language is characterised by her use of bold colour, strong lines and geometric shapes. Across the mediums of jewellery, sculpture and painting, fluid strokes and abstract figurative references celebrate the complexity of the human form. NOW Later: Draw-In invites visitors to express themselves through drawing against the backdrop of Brewster’s ‘The Shape of Things’.

Workshops are open to all abilities. There will be opportunities to drop-in to sessions throughout the evening. Drawing equipment will be provided. If you have a favourite sketchbook or drawing pencil you’d like to use please bring these along!

Programme:
6:00pm to 8:00pm    Life Drawing with Laxmi Hussain
8:00pm to 10:00pm   Still Life and the Face with Frances Costelloe
6:00pm to 10:00pm   Free drawing: Sketch in response to 'The Shape of Things'
