Celebrating the culture and heritage of our local migrant communities.

The theme for Refugee Week 2023 is 'Compassion', taking a stand to make the UK a more welcoming place for people seeking sanctuary.

Royal Museums Greenwich are taking part in Refugee Week to recognise and understand the difficulties for refugees, and look at the need for compassion, not just to ourselves but to all our human neighbours and our one shared home, planet earth.

On Saturday 17th June the National Maritime Museum will be hosting a day of activities and displays that explore the experiences of refugees, asylum seekers and migrants and the importance of compassion - Read more.

Then on Wednesday 21st June, the Museum is hosting a very special screening of The Swimmers, a biographical drama telling the remarkable true story of two young women's journey from war-torn Syria to the 2016 Rio Olympics - Read more.
