Learn how to make your own salt print photographs using one of the earliest historical photographic techniques.

This workshop will introduce you to the historical salt printing printing process which was one of the earliest forms of photography. Led by artist Molly Behagg, the workshop will guide you step-by-step through the process of coating papers, exposing and fixing your prints and working safely with photographic chemicals.

You will be introduced to a range of different materials to experiment printing with, including natural objects and working with digital negatives on transparencies.

No prior experience is needed to participate. All materials are provided.

This workshop will cover;
1. Introduction to the process and a little history of salt printing.
2. Introduction to different printing materials including plant materials, household objects and using digital negatives.
3. Coating papers, exposing and fixing your own prints.
4. Troubleshooting common issues.
5. You will receive a full salt printing recipe with step-by-step instructions to take home.
