Sound and Vision: Up Close and Personal
Get creative with this unique drawing club hosted by Royal Museums Greenwich in collaboration with online gallery Rise Art. Sound and Vision is back for a special limited season with both online and in person sessions.
Following the success of the online drawing club during the pandemic, it's been decided to return for one final season as part of Drawn together: A season of drawing.
Come face to face with historical objects, art, live music, specially curated playlists and specialist talks and performances from curators, artists and musicians as well as having an opportunity to respond creatively yourself!
What happens at Sound and Vision?
Sound and vision is an online club which invites the public to respond creatively to a combination of images and sound. These three special sessions will accompany our new exhibition The Van de Veldes: Greenwich, Art and the Sea. The show explores the life and works of the 17th Dutch artists, Willem van de Velde the Elder and Willem van de Velde the Younger.
Each session will be inspired by a different theme. Participants will be guided around the Queen's House by a special guest to uncover the stories of items in the collection or inspired by the collection.
The guest will select or perform a selection of music or poems for the participants to respond to creatively, and share their work with the group. No prior experience of drawing is required.
