About
War Child Presents Secret 7”at Greenwich Peninsula brings together 7 iconic tracks from 7 of the world’s top musicians, each pressed onto a 7” vinyl. Inspired by the tracks, artists have created 700 distinctive sleeve designs which are displayed until first June, before being auctioned off in support of War Child. The artists remain anonymous until buyers have parted with their cash.
Launched in 2012 and now running its ninth edition, Secret 7” selects seven iconic tracks from globally-renowned musicians, pressing each track onto 100 limited-edition 7” vinyl records. Creatives worldwide, from renowned artists to emerging talents, create one-of-a-kind sleeve designs for each record, interpreting the track in any style or medium of their choosing, resulting in 700 distinctive pieces of collectible art that push the boundaries of what a record sleeve can be.
During its nine year run, Secret 7” has produced and sold 5,600 one-of-a-kind records, raising over £700,000 for various charities to date.
A new perk for 2025, Secret 7” features a dedicated listening lounge where visitors can put on headphones and listen to the full Secret 7” back catalogue, spanning 9 years of the initiative. The exhibition also offers a behind the scenes look at the Vinyl Factory, who press Secret 7”s records as well as a display of artist Yinka Ilori’s exclusive etching.
