Woolwich Works Presents Afro Tala

About

A virtuoso of the n’goni and the kora, both West African stringed instruments, Boubacar Kafando is the singer and leader of Afro Tala.

Born in Burkina Faso, from a very early age Boubacar was fascinated by the music of his country and discovered the secrets of the traditional music while living with local musicians in several artistic houses in its capital, Ouagadougou.

Since releasing his debut album in 2010, Boubacar and his band have performed extensively in venues around the world, including the Cabaret Sauvage in Paris. He has performed at a wide range of festivals in France, but also in Africa: from Burundi to Kenya, and of course his home country Burkina Faso. We're very excited to have him here performing in the UK!
