Dogs at the Old Royal Naval College

Tail-wagging tours through history

Home of the Greenwich Dog Show for two years running, the Old Royal Naval College is a stunning architectural masterpiece within the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site. While dogs are not allowed inside the Painted Hall, the expansive grounds and Colonnades are perfect for a summer stroll.

Snap a selfie in front of the iconic architecture that has been a filming location for blockbusters like Bridgerton and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Marvel's Thor: A Dark World.

You and your pup can enjoy even more beautiful surroundings and gardens just across the street! Whilst dogs aren't permitted inside the buildings of Royal Museums Greenwich, including Queen's House and the National Maritime Museum, the outdoor spaces around these historic landmarks offer plenty of room to roam and admire the impressive exteriors.

Dog in Greenwich Park

Paw-Fect Parks with a View

A visit to Greenwich wouldn’t be complete without a stroll through the Royal Park. Famous for being home to the Prime Meridian, Greenwich Park is a spectacular mix of 17th-century landscape, stunning gardens and a rich history, all set on the backdrop of a sprawling 183 acres of lush greenery.

Dogs are free to roam off their lead in most areas, though please be considerate of others. Please note that dogs are not permitted in The Flower Garden, The Wilderness Deer Park and the Royal Observatory Garden, but there are still acres of gorgeous green spaces for wonderful walkies!

Greenwich Market dog

Mooch with your pooch around Greenwich Market

Greenwich Market remains a favourite for both locals and their four-legged friends. The variety at the Market is amazing — from handmade crafts and vintage treasures to unique artworks, artisanal products and scrumptious street food.

Dogs are warmly welcomed throughout the Market, even at most events, so feel free to browse with your pup by your side.

Greenwich Market can be especially popular at the weekend, so we’d suggest keeping your dog on a shorter lead to explore the stalls with ease.

Greenwich Peninsula park for dog walks
