Morning
Get to the IFS Cloud Cable Car’s Royal Docks station early to beat the queues and welcome the rising sun. Open from 7am Monday to Friday, 8am on Saturday and 9am on Sunday and bank holidays, the Cable Car is idea for early risers. The ten-minute trip, soundtracked by the astonished gasps of passengers watching the sun rise over the Thames Barrier, ends at the Greenwich Peninsula station and the London Cable Car Experience. Get your selfies made into souvenirs in the gift shop and enjoy the free immersive exhibition on offer. To take the fun further, buy a VR Experience or Teddy workshop for the kids.
Midday
Get more London views by climbing The O2’s iconic canopy, with Up At The O2. Then explore beneath the roof for some of London’s best shopping, dining and activities. If time allows, wander around the Design District, take in the innovative architecture, see what’s showing at the free NOW Gallery, and grab some lunch at Canteen. If you fancy a stroll, take in the public art at The Tide, London’s first elevated riverside park.
Afternoon
The IFS Cloud Cable Car offers joint cable car and river tickets in conjunction with Uber Boat by Thames Clippers, so why not take the chance to visit UNESCO-listed Maritime Greenwich the traditional way, by boat? Unmissable sights include the Old Royal Naval College, National Maritime Museum, Royal Observatory and Greenwich Market.
Evening
Catch the boat back to Greenwich Peninsula (North Greenwich pier) and choose from an array of exceptional pubs, bars and restaurants to kick back and recall your IFS Cloud Cable Car excursion. The InterContinental London – The O2 offers upscale options including Kinaara, Meridian Lounge and Eighteen Sky Bar. Finally, the Cable Car runs until 10pm Sunday to Thursday (and bank holidays) and 11pm on Friday and Sunday, allowing you to time your return over the river for sunset.
